Most people associate February 14 with hearts and flowers, candy and cards.
This year, however, we at Eerdmans Books for Young Readers will be ignoring Valentines Day entirely in favor of a holiday that even the most romance-challenged among us can get behind wholeheartedly: International Book Giving Day.
According to bookgivingday.com, “International Book Giving Day is a day dedicated to getting new, used and borrowed books in the hands of as many children as possible.”
To celebrate this worthy occasion, we’ll be giving away five pairs of children’s books here on EerdWord next Thursday.
Each of our lucky winners will receive two copies of a children’s book: one to keep and one to give away to a child. (They will, of course, be free to give both books away if they choose, but we’ll leave that up to them!)
What we haven’t yet managed to nail down, however, is which books to include in our giveaway. So tell us, please: which EBYR titles would you most like to have a chance at winning (and giving away) on International Book Giving Day?
Leave us your suggestions in the comments below — and be sure to keep an eye open next week for our International Book Giving Day Giveaway, which will commence bright and early Thursday morning!

This is a great idea. I know some toddlers who’d love Sleepy Time Blessings by Sally Anne Conan.

I’ll get this conversation started . . .
I think Library Lily would make a fantastic giveaway! It’s got everything: friendship, sharing, and lots and lots of reading.
