Lamin Sanneh is D. Willis James Professor of World Christianity at Yale University and author of the new memoir Summoned from the Margin: Homecoming of an African, which just won the 2013 Christianity Today Book Award for History/Biography.
Back in November Sanneh traveled to Grand Rapids to deliver the Stob Lectures at Calvin Theological Seminary. While he was in town, he also paid a friendly visit to Eerdmans, during which he sat down with Internet marketing manager Rachel Bomberger for a video interview.
The conversation (which we now share below) ranged from the complex social dynamics of a polygamous family to the difficulties of converting to Christianity in a Muslim-majority society — and beyond. Enjoy!
