Three Eerdmans titles have won 2013 Book Awards from Christianity Today. Lamin Sanneh took top honors in the History/Biography category for his memoir Summoned from the Margin: Homecoming of an African. F. Dale Bruner was honored with an Award of Merit in the Biblical Studies category for his commentary on The Gospel of John, and Thomas E. Bergler’s book The Juvenilization of American Christianity earned him an Award of Merit in the category of The Church/Pastoral Leadership.
- Paul Marshall examined Lamin Sanneh’s Summoned from the Margin for Christianity Today in his review “Home Away from Home: Lamin Sanneh has journeyed from Africa to the West, and from Islam to Christianity.”
- Robert Cornwall also reviewed Sanneh’s book on Ponderings on a Faith Journey, saying that it “serves as an important challenge to the way in which we envision religion present in our society.” One day later, Cornwall featured the book (along with Amos Yong’s The Bible, Disability, and the Church) in his Best Books of 2012 post.

Elizabeth Bird included two EBYR titles — Henrik Hovland and Torill Kove’s John Jensen Feels Different and Michelle Markel and Amanda Hall’s The Fantastic Jungles of Henri Rousseau – on her Fuse 8 list of 100 Magnificent Children’s Books of 2012.
- Nick Norelli reviewed Fleming Rutledge’s And God Spoke to Abraham on Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth, concluding, “If anyone can preach, it’s that gal!”
- Nathaniel Claiborne shared a list of the 72 books he reviewed in 2012, including Dean Deppe’s All Roads Lead to the Text and Gregory Mobley’s The Return of the Chaos Monsters, along with several other titles from Eerdmans.
- D. G. Hart (From Billy Graham to Sarah Palin) quoted from his recent contribution to EerdWord in the Front Porch Republic post “From Culture to Party Wars?“

Dwelling with Philippians (Elizabeth Steele Halstead et al.) was among Baker Book House’s December 2012 Best Sellers (as announced on the Baker Book House Church Connection blog).
- CNN reported this week that 5,000 fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls (subject of many Eerdmans books, including James C. VanderKam’s The Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible) have now been digitized by Google.
