There’s so much Eerdmans news to report today that this morning’s blog post may be all over the map. Please bear with us.
Books on Prayer
The brief media spotlight shined yesterday on the National Day of Prayer may now be turned off again, but faith-filled folks around the world continue — as they ever have — to “pray without ceasing.”
To honor this an important aspect of religious faith and life, we’re featuring books on prayer on our website this month. Click on the banner below to find a wide assortment of prayer-related books for adults and children — resources that will help you approach every day of the year more prayerfully.
Wanted: Experienced Field Sales Manager
Eerdmans is currently looking to hire a dynamic Field Sales Manager — someone with strong sales experience who can help us sell our eclectic list of titles across a range of diverse markets: trade, children’s, religious, and academic. We’re seeking a professional who possesses a proven track record in book sales and marketing but who is also creative, innovative, and open to all the possibilities of the current and future marketplace.
This is a full-time, in-house position (with some travel required) based out of our offices in Grand Rapids, Michigan. For more information, visit the employment page on our website.
Can Kids with Disabilities HAVE and BE Friends?
On her Patheos blog Thin Places: Faith, Family, Disability Amy Julie Becker has devoted this week “to guest posts that tell a story of friendship, of Americans who are willing to pay a different price, to sacrifice comfort and convention for the sake of meaningful relationships.”
Among the contributors to this series is Eerdmans author Benjamin Conner, whose new book Amplifying Our Witness: Giving Voice to Adolescents with Developmental Disabilities will be released in June. His two articles, “Can Kids with Disabilities HAVE Friends” and “Can Kids with Disabilities BE Friends,” explore, as Becker says, “the possibilities for typically-developing kids to befriend kids with disabilities and vice versa.”
Each month at Eerdmans.com we feature one adult and one children’s author, editor, or illustrator, providing a little more in-depth information about their life and work than would be possible to squeeze on a 6×9″ book cover.
